Hardware (Screws & Nuts)

Introduction

This design uses (relatively) standard server rack hardware. However, common nuts are used in place of cage nuts.

M5 and 12-24 hardware will fit, but I recommend you stick to one of the two specs in the table below just to maintain compatibility with other server racks.

McMaster Part Numbers are provided for your convenience, but you can buy these anywhere. The head of the screw does not particularly matter.

* 10-32 nuts will fall out of the rails quite easily. However, it listed here as a potentially cheaper option if you're in the US.

Eirik Jeppesen has designed custom fully printable M6 fasteners that are compatible with this rack. These fasteners have some unique advantages that traditional fasteners don't have.
